About Jeannie

I began painting a couple of years ago, after taking the plunge and attending watercolour classes with a tutor who had a great enthusiasm for the subject and was very encouraging (thanks Annie). I am lucky enough to be surrounded by glorious countryside and began painting this in watercolours. I find painting and materials very addictive and am always looking for new ways to reproduce my impressions. In addition to watercolours I now use acrylics, soft pastels, oil pastels and add in anything else I think will enhance the painting. I love to paint landscapes, in both a traditional manner and more abstract formats. I find I am very influenced by the seasons and this dictates to a degree what I wish to paint. I am particularly interested in colour relationships and textures. I add in anything of permanence that I hope will add to the feeling I want to create with a work. I currently have a particular penchant for glitter and sparkles!

As I have mobility problems I paint a great deal from photographs, and will be pleased to undertake commissions if you can supply clear reference materials. Should you not be happy with the result I will refund price in full, less delivery. I can reproduce most of the pictures in different sizes or colours if required. The Studio

The ‘studio’ is a wooden conservatory situated next to a series of cascading ponds in the garden giving a nice inspiring view. Some pictures from the Norfolk Open Studios are below, we did have a large marquee up but the last weekend it was gale like winds and the marquee blew down, luckily it was nice weather for the final two days and so we could rest some of the pictures outside on tables and chairs.
