Just to prove that even in magical fairyland there are problems. The Woodland Tax bill is in, Mr Elf has been at the Oak Wine, the caterpillars have been at the toadstools, I just want some peace and quite and the damn butterflies won’t go away, and to cap it all I’ve just trodden in

No 2 of the series of woodland disasters. “I get her out of the kitchen, and off to the ball. She meets the prince and has a great evening. All Cinderella had to do was be back by midnight, just one little request and can she do it? No, and now I’m in serious trouble with the chief Elf because the mice have run amok,there’s bits of pumpkin everywhere and the prince has got the magic glass slipper and won’t give it back.. Ungrateful girl.”

Arizona Desert
I was intrigued by the way the wind has eroded and eaten into the rocks, and by the smooth shapes formed in the sand. I love the way each layer is a slightly different shade leading to a striped effect.

Autumn woodlands 1
An impressionist view of the woods in autumn. The sun is streaming down behind the trees, dappling the branches and casting golden shadows all around. Predominant colours are red, yellow and orange, but there are touches of blue, violet, sienna, ochre, gold and copper. The trees are thickly painted and retain the texture of the paint. Tiny sprinkles glitter across the work.

Koi
A trio of vibrant golden orange Koi swimming through a cluster of waterlillies. The Koi are overlaid with shimmering gold and the water is a medely of blues from an electric cerulean to deepest Paris blue. The waterlillies are in a variety of greens highlighted with deep red and gold.

Ball, jug and candle
Vibrant contemporary painting, in harlequin colours and patterns. Part Abstract and part Still Life the background shapes go opaquely over some of the shapes and yet can be seen underneath some of the transparent layers. The deep edge canvas sides are currently white and will be painted whatever colour you choose.

Beach huts at Wells
Lovely sunny painting of beach huts that line the seashore at Wells. You can see the tall pines that give Pinewoods its’ name behind them, and the golden sands and gently lapping waves in the foreground.

bethany’s butterfly
A simple fun butterfly picture for my grand-daughter Bethany. The background is shades of cerulean blue, and the butterfly wings are purple, with touches of cerulean and white. The whole butterfly is outlined with a raised silver relief. Similar versions can be comissioned, price depends on size and backing. This one is on paper and would be around £40 unframed, for similar size.
